Education

We have worked extensively in the education sector for more than 20 years, specialising in environmentally conscious design and creating uplifting, accessible, educational spaces which benefit pupils and staff alike.

We have an in depth knowledge of DfES guidelines and are experts in curriculum analysis. Our range of educational work encompasses:

Academies | Early years | Independent | Master planning | Primary secondary | Special needs

Residential

Every client and site is different and so, working closely with the client, we ensure we put together a very particular brief from the outset.

In keeping with our ethos, in addition to the normal physical requirements people need from their homes, we also make sure that we embrace our clients’ psychological needs and how the design evolves will reflect this.

We look to bring something special to every project and our passion is for the use of natural materials, daylight and landscaping that ‘brings the outside in’.

Whether you need an extension to your existing home, a new home built from scratch, an old barn in need of converting,  a listed building updated or a delightful oak-framed space created, we can help!

Above all, we pride ourselves on building strong bonds with our clients and creating wonderful spaces for them to enjoy.

Community

Since the Practice’s inception in 1994, we have been working with communities in Bath and the surrounding areas; this work requires a different set of design and briefing skills to working with an individual client as there is inevitably a diverse set of needs and ideas to be accommodated.

Community projects will often have a long wish-list of the varying activities that need to be catered for and so the challenge for us is to identify ways of adapting the space for a whole range of events and also to create a green space which engenders a sense of collective pride.
