Derek Siemens

Derek earned his Master of Architecture from Université de Montréal in Canada where he devoted particular energy to architectural design theory, urban design, and sustainable design for which he was awarded the Bourse Guy Desbarats as a founding member of the first team outside the United States to become finalists in the Solar Decathlon competition in Washington DC.

Derek joined Batterham Matthews Architects in 2013 and brings with him a wealth of experience from working in one of the foremost architectural firms in Canada, Lemay &  Associés in Montréal,  to designing bespoke residences in Carmel, California.

Since arriving in England in 2010 he has worked on a wide range of projects from the Silverstone masterplan to Bath Spa University’s digital arts building.  At Batterham Matthews Architects  he continues to explore unconventional spatial relationships and separations while managing and detailing projects of all scales and sectors.
